Sound like foreign language

I had a strange feeling today. The japanese conversation spoken around me was sound as if it were english. I must be tired. I might need to rest a while.

Pride

A cycle shop's owner seems to decide to close a buisness. I bought my bicycle at the shop this summer. I've choosen this shop because I'd impressed by the pride of the owner's craftmanship. I don't know exactly why he close sthe store, but I guess that he couldn't compromise his products. It becomes harder and harder to get a simple and study products.

Nodame cantabile

I'm anticipating every Monday for the TV drama series "Nodame cantabile". I hardly keep watching TV dramas because most of them are so childish and irritating. But Nodame, which is the nick name of a heroine in "Nodame cantabile", makes me happy with not only her character but her talents for the classical music. For the record, her playing piano is at most a BGM practically. So, it's the power of the script and the direction that makes me feel Nodame's piano fascinating. Anyway, this is the coolest drama I've ever seen, thoughI've littel experience in japanese TV dramas.

Somebody moved in the lower floor

I spent all the day at home because my wife seemed to have caught a cold. It made me achieve the SICP upto the exercise 4.31.

By the way, a family has moved in the lower floor today.

Tuna Bowls

We went Tsukiji and ate tuna bowls for the breakfast. Tsukiji is known as the largest tuna dealing market. All japanese, of course crazy about tuna, yearn to eat fresh tuna at Tsukiji where is fortunately along our well-worn cycling cource.

Magic show

I've been spending this evening watching the TV magic show. Although I know it's a waste of time to be glued to the TV about more than two hours, I couldn't keep my eyes off the magic. It's not bad if once in a while, is it?

Lazy evaluation

Today is a holiday in Japan. Though I could went to buy coffee beans, I killed most of the day speculating the upward-compatible metalinguistic evaluator introduced at the exercise 4.31 in "SICP". It is hard for me to understand when the argument shuld be thunked and when the thunk should be forced. I've made little headway since Chapter 4...

Annual Lisp seminor(3)

3rd day of the Franz Lisp seminor. I'm so impressed that I have not attained to the enough skill on everything. The seminor enhanced my motivation for learning.

Annual Lisp Seminor (2)

2nd day of the Franz's Lisp seminor. I could meet a lot of people and get special experiences. And I was keenly aware of my lack of skills of English and the technologies. Especially, I was so upset when talked with Mr. Fritz Kunze and wasn't able to tell him the background of the article which my colleague wrote on this seminor in last time clearly. Fritz has read the article and tell me that he was astonished at Hisashi's precise report. He also seemed to be amazed at the Ruby's subsequent success. He said he never predicts the future. I should tell him that core developers of Ruby don't get caught up in its sudden popularity brought by Rails, and are striving toward the upcoming releases.

Annual Lisp Seminor

Today is the first day of the annual Lisp event sponsored by Franz Inc. at Tokyo. I participated a seminar on the AllegroGraph which supports the Semantic Web. Although I'm not familiar with the Semantic Web, it made me feel so applicative.
As far as I'm concerned, I could learn a lot of basic technologies like RDF triples, Prolog, and Sparql. I would like to thank Franz Inc. for arranging such a precious opportunity every year.

Parent's home

I visited back to my parents home. I've come more frequently since my father's death. Nonetheless, I recognize my mother feels a bit lonely. The more keenly I aware of her lonelyness, it becomes more hard to come back to the home.

Repair parts

I drip a cup of espresso every morning using the Bialetti. But the coffee maker has been troublesome lately. The trouble was in the rubber packing around its fileters. So I bought a packing at the kitchen instruments shop in Kappabashi. Using venerable brand's products have advantages of being able to get even such a minor parts.

Walking

I walked to the office this morning. It took one and half an hour. It is about 8 km distance from my house to the office, so I walked at about 6 km per hour. It would seem that I walked at incredibly intence pace and then worked as usual. I feel quite myself lately. I've never considered myself healthy.

Best wishes

We tend to believe just one thing, though there might be several possibilities. Rather, there must be some factors defining our recognision.

Meanwhile, I went my favorite pub for the first time in the past months and knew that an initimate weitress has been pregnant. Best wishes for happiness!

What I know

I hardly suffer people speak about the things they don't know much. But there seem to be somebody who confuse the things they know much and the things they pretend themselves know. If you want to speak about something, you must get at least double acknowledgement about the thing.

I'm afraid that I also pretend me know something unconsciously. When I talk about something, I should aware of what I know and what I don't know.

I forgot to

I failed to write a journla yesterday. It's all my fault. I'm so disappointed with me.

Antenna and Mt.Fuji

I love the antennae. Especially, for the microwave. It's dull cone shape fascinates me.

Yesterday, I encounterd an microwave antenna at the top of Mt.Katsuragi located in the middle of Izu.

R0010822

The antenna was so beautiful as Mt.Fuji which was viewed from there.

R0010800

I paused to realize that Mt.Fuji is so close to the sea.

Tower of Hanoi

I've been misunderstanding that the Tower of Hanoi had invented by 'Mr. Hanoi' or someone. It was Eduard Lucas. What the hell does the Hanoi means?

Don't Lay the Blame

I hate people who can do nothing against the trouble they made. More irritating is that they never attempt to handle the trouble and lay the blame on their business partners. You should act more professional. At least, could you please quit the know-it-all attitude?

By the way, complaints are easy to use in the dialy.

What the Publish Means

I'm working for a publisher. But I hardly agree with the business model that the publisher industry adheres to. Recent publishers tend to publish more books than the reades want. Such a sick economy will not last long. All we have to do is screening the project so as to meet the market demand.

Eager for what?

An organization will collapse when the body includes two types of spaces distinguished on their sense of values. Especcialy, it's critical when the one is eager for quantities while the other is eager for qualities.

Repair Tires

I bought three rubber tires for bicycles on my way to home. One of the three is for repairing the punctuation happend in last friday. The rests are for the MTB which I'm using for commuting. Its rear wheel rubber has needed immediate replacement, but I'd put off repairing. At last, the rubber ruptured yesterday and I must have gone to the office by train this morning.

11/05/2006

Injured Tire

The puctuation was seemed to be more terrible than I've imagened. Not only the tube but also the tire itself was injured. It must be replaced with new one. I'm hard up for cash...

Long Sleeve Shirt

My arms are a touch long and dosen't fit in typical mass produced long sleeve shirts. Though there is just a large product, all these large shirts are for rather fatty men. So I hardly get a shirt that entirely fit my body. I wish some clothing company strengthen such a tall man's shirt lineup. (Besides, I'm not so tall against western people.)

11/03/2006

Trouble

I took a long ride to Omiya where is about 40km far from my house. I attended a lecture at there by Shigeo Nishimura who is an author of some picture books. His speech was very interesting. I could have got a lot of impression.

Unluckily, my bicycle punctuated on the way back to home. The rest of the way was more than 20km... I fixed it up on the sopt and barely came back to home, but I need to buy a spear tube tomorrow for tidily repairing.

nxml-mode and Mule-UCS

Mule-UCS is an eLisp to support UTF-8 on Emacs21. It's the only way to edit UTF-8 encodings except using the snapshot of Emacs22.
Today I tried to use the nxml-mode and recognized that the nxml-mode is incompatible with the Mule-UCS (debian package explanation tells so). Apparently, the nxml-mode developper has no will to support Mule-UCS. I'm affraid that I should keep using the psgml-mode for a while.

Inkjet Refill Kit

I tried to use the inkjet refill kit. It's not for just pinching, but rather for preventing fears of environmental destruction. The only problem with the inkjet refill kit is that it contaminates my fingers.
