My friend, the man wearing the fake NASA costume in the right photo, came to see the baby. At first the baby cry badly, but soon he seemed to realize that the man is not harmful. In reality, he stoped crying just because he drank a prenty of breast milk.

Define-macro with several forms

Gauche, one of the most powerful scheme R5RS implementations, has define-macro special form. It's useful but can take only one procedure as the defining form. So I use values special form to set several forms in one define-macro. For exapmle,
(define-macro foo
  (values
    '(define ...)
    '(main form ...))

I wonder this technique is appropriate.

I've misunderstood. I'd do like this.
(define-macro foo
  `(begin
    (define ...)
    (main form ...))

Welcome home

My spouse came back to the home for the first time in almost two months. And the son came to the home for the first time in his life.

But he is so upset by the new environment and won't stop crying.

It begins

I have a hey fever and today it begins the season. Very suffering. It's no less than the real fever. What a rotten runny nose I have!

Each weekend I visited him, he seemed to gain in weight.

Whatever, I could do nothing but playing "Super Mario Bros." on DS in my spouse's parents' home.

Book reading speed

I am a slow book reader. I can read Japanese books at at most 50 pages per an hour. The speed is down to at most 10 pages per hour for English books. I'm adoring everyone havine speed-reading ability. Is it just an ability of recognizing characters at fast pace? Or, is it required other ability? Can a man achieving a speed-reading skill read a specialized book without the domain's specific knowledge?

I met Joel Spolsky, who is in Japan now. I managed a project of publishing the translated version of his first book several years ago. And it was the first time I can get the chance to talk with him. He didn't speak, say, ironically at all against his writings. Contrary, his presentation was filled with jokes and ironies and it was so fun. It must be more atractive without translations because he seemed to wait before saying each sentence until the translator finished the last sentence. Anyway, I could have had a nice day. Thank everyone whom I talked with today.

Having a baby yields chances of communication with people whom I haven't seen for a long time.

2/11/2008

In my opinion, the expecting father had better have an experience to hold a newborn baby who still cannot hold its head by oneself. Otherwise, once he becoming a father, he will be paralyzed with over scares. In reality, there is no need to be scared, but is required to be just cautious.

If you will be a father in the near future and by chance have a friend getting baby lately, you ought to find opportunity to ask him/her to let you hold his/her baby.

I seem to be in a bad week.

I still feel depressed even when the big job I had been struglled has almost ended. Mantal contentment is touchy by its nature.

I can write anything without sense in Japanese.

I have nothing to write here today. I could write anything that has no sense if I wrote in Japanese, but can't in English. I think the native language is characterized by such an automatic dictation ability.

I had a bad day.

Erlang Book

I was reading the erlang book through this weekend at my spouse's parents' home. There are a kind of book on the computer science that makes some readers feel hard to understand it, though it really isn't. Books are one of those easy-to-misunderstood products. It takes long time to be realized the real value of certain books.

L'OCCITANE

Another friend gave me, preciselly our baby, the soup set as a gift. I owe you. Thank you very much.

It's not gaudy but adroit gift. (and must be expencive.) It's practical, because the baby needs to have us take a bath. But most of all, I and my spouse are fond of natural soap. We've quit using chemical soap. I'm looking forward to open the package.
