DQN

'DQN' is the derogatory word refering to the rude people, whose rudeness is caused by the nurturing environment they've grown up with. Uneducated, bad-mannered, immoral, easily got misplaced angry, and they'll never feel remorse. They mostly live in closed suburbans, sometimes go to cities, and make nuisances. Indeed I got offended by DQN today. I was almost seething with anger at their rudeness then. But writing here, now I pity them rather.

IPAX 2007

My colleague made a presentation at the IPAX 2007 exhibition. I couldn't listen his presentation, but I went to the exhibition and dropped in his booth. He seemed to feel good interests from audiences. I also got some insights from the conversations in there.

Aggressive

I feel myself a little bit aggressive in a negative way. I know the surroundings is are just attributed to contributing to at most half of my current aggressive tendency. Another half is, maybe, the frustration.

No woman no cry

There no business without trouble. If you screwed, it's the time to get further resilience and stuburnness which will help you in the future. Though I hesitate to make such an advice since I'm niether resilient nor stuburn.

6/26/2007

Creep

I heard a too horible narrative to write down details hear... (And I was remembering a similar situation like this case before.) It might not be him to be charged, but is managements.

Opportune presents

My friend gave me a tropical fruits, though she dislikes it, and DVD disks. Both of them happened to be good presents for my pregnant wife. The fruits is rich in folic acid, which is mandatory during the early pregnancy. And the DVD will help her from boring rest. Thanks a lot.

Rain

I think there's no need to fall rain in the urban. Of course that's an overstatement.

Yubin Hurikae

In Japan, the post office runs the finance business. It's usually not my problem. But when it comes to being payed dividends, I have to concern them because most corporates pay dividends in the form of the Yubin Hurikae which is the specific financial services provided by the post office. When I try to encash dividends, they require a lot of hanko stamps on the receipt. It makes no sence to me.

Selling books, got insight on building books.

I joined a conference on an agile software development yesterday. Here my colleagues and I sold our books to audiences. It was a wonderful experience, since I've hardly found a situation of someone having purchased our books at book store. I want to say thank conference organizers for the precious opportunity.

Even more I got stimulated by the conference itself. I found some insight on my business, that is building books but developping software. I'm sure that the approach we take now in making books are close to the methdorogy and the attitude of the agile software developemnt. I want to report shortly on what we do now.

Sleep early

My wife goes to bed so early in these days. I join her and also sleep long. But still feel sleepy in a daytime. Why?

6/18/2007

SEVEN SAMURAI

I took one day vacation to go to watch the movie "SEVEN SAMURAI", directed, of course, by Akira Kurosawa. It's mere oppotunity to be able to see the film but DVD. Indeed, I have the DVD packaged by Criterion.

R0011586

There was no room for a standing audience. Just as well that I have taken a reserved seat.

R0011584

I have no word to tell the brilliance of this movie. It was rather when projecting the film, because of a myriad of gray compounds covering every scene.

A Whole New Mind

I'm reading Daniel Pink's "A Whole New Mind" from this morning. I hate person who emphasizes his idea with oversimplifying or misleading views of the science, so I had been half in doubt on this book. (I may be, in Pink's term, an L-Directed man).

But Pink is far more creditable writer than I imagined. Although I've just read chapter 1, his polished sentences gave me a lot of intellectual excitements. He says on a footnote that

It's a book that uses neuroscience to create a metaphor. But even (perhaps especially) in the realm of metaphor, it's important to be true to the science.

I like this attitude.

Ueno

I went to Ueno while my wife took a nap. It was scorching afternoon.

There are many clothing store in Ueno. One of my favourite shop has been launching an unforseen sale, and I wasn't abel to resist wasting unexpected money. Today's frantic heat must have get me be gripped by some T-shirts.

Father

This weekend is the father's day. I lost my father three years ago. The probability of my becoming a father grows up. Life is skew.

6/14/2007

So excited

I've often failed to put down this diary. In these day, I was so excited or so tired that I can't write any words. Yesterday felt I both so excited and so tired. I dare say that I believe cuteness defeats all.

6/12/2007

Reasons

I think there are many complex reasons for some book selling well. It's not just by good manuscripts, good editing, a good market, or even a good planning. If we flatten such backgrounds, we may be failed to make a well selling book next time, though I don't regard it as the only goal of publishing book. By the way, I usually doesn't apt to publish a translation of a title in which many bloggers interested, at least by the reason of that.

6/11/2007

Custom

I received a package from U.S. Unexpectedly, customs claimed import duty for the buggage. I have never been said to pay the import duty, although I had experienced personal import several times before. It seemed to cost me JPY 5500 including consumption tax. Does this mean I paid a consumption tax on customs?

6/10/2007

Poor communications

But then I hope I were able to tell my words in whatever language. I mean, I still have to talk to in Japanese, let alone English. There is a crucial difference between writing down words and speaking to someone. It doesn't matter what language I use.

Brave

I was thrilled. Dave Thomas told me that I am brave for handling their manuscripts and building japanese translations from these. And more, I got a clue and insight to improve the way I process their manuscripts. Thank you so much. I will do well.

6/09/2007

Ruby Kaigi 2007

I was tired. The organizer and promoting staff must have been far more tired. Otsukaresama-deshita. Some sessions attracted me, but some were a little bit boring. It was because I hardly use Ruby lately (just mentaining some scripts I've ever write). Now I rather love scheme ;)

News

Good news and bad news occur correspondingly at the same time. I can regard the simultaneous occurence of news we got today as a good news though.

6/07/2007

Pair e-mailing

I'm not sure whether 'e-mail' is able to use as a verb.:) Anyway, I was succeeded to write important e-mails, which I couldn't write if my colleague hadn'd advise me on what to write. That's an amazing experience for me. Doing hundful job with someone worth trusting might be a silver bullet for the indisposition.

6/06/2007

Red Curry

I love thai curry. And I ate it for lunch in one of my favourite restaurant. I thought that the shop must have changed it's taste, though. Or, has my tongue changed?

6/05/2007

Vinegar bar

I found a vinegar bar near the office several days ago. Lately it's my favourite place to drop in with my colleague after work. Vinegar is good for our health, though I drink a glass of wine there.

6/04/2007

Public Pension

Japanese government lost the records of our public pensions. Ruling parties was accused by the antiadministration parties of the issue, but they also aren't worth trusting because they just seem to use it as an election politics. They doesn't show us the reasonable investigation about this problem and fuel the admass people with the biased media.

6/03/2007

Biwa

I'd like to eat fruits in season. In japan, the fruit in this season, early summer, is loquat. It's called 'BIWA' in japanese.

loquat

Loquat has astonishingly mild plane taste. It's not so sweet, nor sour, nor strange.

Evening flashed...

I've succeeded in waking up early these weekend, but it was failed today. I might drink too much last night. Over sleep steels effectiveness of the day. Evening flashed, and I had to go to meet and eat diner with my wife's parents.
