PC Trouble
My Windows box apeared to die, though it doesn't interfare on my daily
work. In deed, I've rarely used it for several months.
I guess it will be recovered by replacing the power unit.

Contemporary music
I had another chance to hear Rohan de Salam playing Kodaly tonight.
When it comes to the Kodaly, his performance has been more impressive last week.
But I could enjoy some other solo cello works today. He specially added
Teizo Matsumura's peace to the program in remembrance of him. The
peace and the performance blew my mind.

Leave aside an ignorance on technologies, I'm diappointed at the poor Japanese of the people working on a professional translation project to Japanese.

Kodály --- Sonata for solo cello, Op. 8
I'm so fascinated by the music of Zoltán Kodály since I've heard Rohan de Saram playing the cello sonata (Op.8) last week. Precisely, I was fascinated by his play. I have the CD that Yo Yo Ma plays the Kodály, but his play is further emotional, or somehow dazzling, in comparison with Rohan's plain sound of the cello.

Too hard to write a C code analyzing strings. I'm confident of my
progress but I still feel I'm wasting my time.

Live Music
I went to a classic concert last week. And I went another one
today. I'm still touched both of these.
I'd like to enjoy the sound of the live instrument more often. Playing some is desirable.

I'm almost giving up building lexical analyzer.
It's hard to implement a data structure for the interpreter of my own.

How wonderful the holiday without a headache is!
I went to buy coffee beans at the morning and soon regained the sanity
again. Then I fixed the CD player, read some pages on SICP, and wrote some
code.
But while reading the SICP, I lost the insight on the eval and the apply. I seemed to think that I understood these concepts. I have to get back to the chapter 4 and brush it up.

Coffee withdrawal?
Still having a headache, I spent all the day sleeping fitfully.
I'm starting to become suspicious that I'm going through caffeine
withdrawal --- I've been out coffee beans since yesterday. I have to
fill it tomorrow.

East and West
There are many big cities in Tokyo. Such as Marunouchi, Akihabara,
Asakusa, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Roppongi. These cities are classified in
two main characteristics by their locations. The first three cities
are located in the east, and the rest are in west. I'm not sure where
the border lies --- perhaps somewhere through the imperial palace. I
live in the east, and of course the west city makes me feel ill at easy.
The Tokyo Tower is also on the border.

Rich or not
I think the man's best asset is his family but his money.
I don't mean the mental benefit of a family.
Family has the real effects on ones finance.
However, people who realize this fact, in my opinion, generally
doesn't take advantage of his family.

JavaScrpt
I find myself understanding JavaScript easier than ever.
It would be the result of having read the SICP.
But I still feel uncomfortable when I write the code using DOM.
I think DOM is the most difficult part of the JavaScript programing.

Translation
I feel so curious about a language that I compulsively begin studying
a trivial thing, such as a grammar of Japanese that is my native
language. However, the more I study (rather than learn) a language,
the less I use it effectively. I might be wasting a time.
I mean not only Japanese but the other language including a programing languages.

Nasu
I visited Nasu with friends last weekend.
Nasu is a well-known highland where the princess has the Villa.
There are a lot of milk farms, and some of them are open to the visitors.
They sell a fresh milk and ice creams to people escaped the city.
We also appreciated the nature, especially the water falls.

Still Under the Effects of the Typhoon
The typhoon is blustering outside the window just now.
The radio says the Joban line has been out of services.
My pregnant spouse got a ride to the station from the office by her
boss, who was worried about her not slipping on a wet road.
We appreciate that.

Effects of a Typhoon
The typhoon is coming. It brought a damp clammy weather.
Also, the power system of the train company seemed to be damaged by the
storm, and I was stuck on the station on the way home.

Why is TeX balky?
TeX calculates and compares values, on which words, images, tables
are all put onto the pages of a book. It usually works well. But,
especially for the books not written in English, we often need to
change its behavior. Some programmer will try to change values or
functions (macro) which used to manipulate these values, and fail, and
hate the program and its author.
However, I suddenly recognized today that the TeX features are all associated to work with values representing the beauty. I mean, the beauty which Knuth thinks (or may feel) to be. And, of course, the beauty is hard to determine logically, so TeX calculates it with a ton of parameters working reciprocally, interacting with each other, and affecting to the whole system independently. As a result, it is beyond human understandings, as is the way with some other beautiful things.
