Whether it's rain or not is a big problem for me cycling to the
office. And it was rainy for this two days. I was expecting to commute
by train. It's horrible being trapped in the crowded train.
Fortunately, there has been no rain during my commuting in both days.
I ought to be the sun-bringer, that is, rain ought to be hate me.
I mean, sure, such a heterogeneity is just a trick of probabilities.

A cup of cofee
I lately spend all the day at the office except when drinking coffee.
That is the time for me to come to the office.

Blue pill
As a publisher, I thought I have to concern myself with books I'm not so
interested. But it was not exactly true. I could plan to publish
restricted titles. On the other hand, as a member of the publisher, I
think I have to help my colleagues to publish books I'm not so
interested. Is it true? It must be true iff I want to help
him/her projects. This may sound selfish. Honestly, I feel lately that
publishing books is not a forced work but a decision-making
work. Making best decision is mostly hard. I might have chosen
a blue pill.

German Fest 2007
It appears that there held some nation festivals somewhere in tokyo every weekend.
This weekend is the German Fest, that is, the beer fest. Woot!
It seems to be held every day through this week.
Anyway, I have to drink. It's an off-chance to be able to drink german tap beer served from Keg. I chose Erdinger dark.
Great flavor. I lament the artificial taste of japanese vendors' beer these days.
You can enjoy german specialities like Wurst(sausages) and Sauerkraut too. However, I enjoyed Erbsensuppe(pea soup) and Lasagna.
A cake appearing in the above photo is Apfelschnitte(apple cake).

Ups and Downs
I seemed to have a lot of ups and downs in mind this week.
Fortunately, I believe that I have an understanding wife, some good
friends even in the office, so I can easily turn over from
sinking. Today, at the end of the week, was also I felt fruitful.
Here is the private message.
Come back early and let's go drinking. I heard Nao-san will return by this autumn.

Nothing
It can't be nothing all the day. I'm just so exhousted that I can't
recall the day. But it's too bad, isn't it?

Arduous day
It might be the most painful day of the year, I presume.

Viola Sonates
I went on listening viola tunes for these days. It's said that there
are few repertoires for the viola. So is true in comparison with other
instruments. In my recollection, Nobuko Imai, one of the great
violists, had recorded Ysaye's "Six Sonates pour Violon (or Violin)
Seul" arranged for the viola. But I can't find the CD. Maybe I'm
fooling myself.

African Festa 2007
We went for a ride to Hibiya Park in which the African Festa 2007 was
held.
Embassies of several African nations sold there local dishes and folk pieces. In comparison with the Thai Festival held the other day, it was less crowded and filled with more easygoing mood.
What was my disappointing was the fervor of enlightening activists. It's a festival. So I was hoping to enjoy their rich cultures and customs rather than having sympathy or expressing awareness of the recent few decades problems in the continent. I think there are awesome diverse cultures all around the Africa we might have been entertained.

Shinkanses
I woke up early and enjoyed watching Shinkansens, japan's most fast superexpress. There are many types of Shinkansens according to its destination, date of introduction, and number of its floor -- we have, surprising it may sound, full-double-decked Shinkansens.
Anyway, you could see almost all variety of Shinkansens just for about 30 minutes since the railway company runs it every few minutes in morning.
This is the Type-E4, full-double-decked Shinkansenn. It goes for Sendai or Niigata.
Head of Type-E4. It appears Type-E4s have yellow stripe.
Sometimes it's operated being coupled with another type. In the below photo, it was coupled with Type-E3-1000s. Type-E3s are single-deck.
There's another full-double-decked one, Type-E1.
Type-400 is one of a narrow-gaged Shinkansens, goes for Yamagata.
This red striped one is Type-E2 Shinkansen. It's the most widely used model.
There also are Type-E2 late production. It has a pink stripe. According to the railway company, its pink stripe reflects an azalea flower.
The color of Shinkansen, however, is so vagary. The railway company sometimes painted it based on its destination, and sometimes based on its type.

Haggared
This morning I met a chief editor of a magazine at the elevator
hall. When I reached the hall, she has been waiting for the lift and
looked haggard from the back. I've heard of the mess on the magazine,
so I'm warried about her.

Unbearable attitude
Hmmm. I just didn't want to stand for a technically unfaithful representation.
It's easy to make irresponsible comments about the potential of the technology with fantastic views.
If the technology was looked unattractive or questionable, just say that, and I would give a
sensible explanation. But I would refuse to engage in arguments with pretendings that he has an
insight on the field.

flickr comment
I aware just now that some people have given comments to my photos on
flickr. I believed that flickr sends me an email if somebody leaves
comment. Or, is there any configuration page letting it do that?

Direct or Produce
I suddenly realized that my job is not to direct building a book but
is to produce. Today my colleague made me think like that. I hadn't
been in such an insight... She may have told me that I always work as
a laborer rather than a producer.

Silence
The office has been very quiet because there were many absences.
I've also been in no shape for these weeks, so I'd like to get away
from the office and work at home for a while. I dare say it's less
effective working without any delight. But it's no use just
complaining. I keep standing out my work for myself.
Such a bravado would be one of symptoms of depression, I know...

Mother's day and walking
My mother came to the home and we welcomed her with the delicacy for lunch. We broiled drumfishes for the main dish. Drumfishes gave me the fish-eye, literally, before they sent to the oven.
After she left, we went to some walking. We met a cute little brown hair's. She sits on the road quaking,
then she's gone.
After a short wolk, We encountered pigeons sitting on the wall. Why in the world did they rest in such a difficult manner?

Thai Fest.
Thai Festival, held anually in this season at Yoyogi, is one of the pleasuable
event I'm looking for. A lot of thai food restaurants and craft shops
gather around the Yoyogi Park and sell their favorite menus or goods.
Most menus, however, are green curry, chicken soute, and some unique
tropical fruits.
This year I ate a local curry I've never experienced. It tasted good but it's so hot for my empty stomach that I couldn't eat several more foods. So we enjoyed mainly visiting shops selling ethic craft products. There also were auto-rickshaws being sold.
I bought fresh leaves of holly-basil, not sweet-basil, usually hard to get, and cooked chicken basil saute. This strong aroma is what chicken basil saute should be.

GaucheNight
Today is the GaucheNight. But I've failed to book a ticket. Alas, I couldn't
got in the event. I didn't imagine such an excitement about this
event. It's so welcome affairs, though, that many people are interested in
the Scheme and the Gauche.
By the way, I thank everyone for talking with me outside the venue without seat.

Studious Woman
I had a contingent meeting with a person who does typesetting
jobs. She is eager to learn new technology though she's senior to me.
I think it's so rare for veterans around the DTP business to be
studious like her. I can learn a lot from her.

Rain
Today was the last day of the four days holiday (or, four day holidays?
I'm not sure). However, it's rain all the day so I've been vacantly in
the room watchig movies and reading books. Luck of creativities. I mean, Lack.

Houji
The 'houji' is a kind of the sermon not at the church but at the buddhist
temple on around the day of relatives' death. We got the second houji
on my deceased father today. My mother seems to have got cheering up
from the depressed mood for this years.
By the way, the second houji is called 'San-Kai-Ki' that means "the third time anniversary." I'm always confused with its numeration.

Tsukiji morning
We went to Tsukiji and ate breakfast. Tsukiji is known as the biggest
fish market in Tokyo, so visitors eager to eat sushi. Whole market was
filled with queues longing for sushi.
We are not interested in sushi for breakfast (is it a bit too expensive?). Rather, we prefer sauteed fish plates. Today we ate greenling (above) and conger (below).
Another topic. I found a four-leaf clover on the way to Tsukiji. But I've not yet experienced something lucky event.

'Oharai'
My wife is in the first bad years known as 'yaku-doshi', which is believed to last for three years for everyone born at a specific year.
Yaku-doshi, of course, is a kind of an old superstition in Japan.
However, most people feel it unpleasant, and go to a local shrine to
get exorcised it. Such a exorcist is called an 'oharai.'
I joined the oharai with her and enjoyed the traditional ritual. And more, I was excited with the shin-kan-sen running by the shrine.
Then I came to the office. For any sake, I got dull at the office. I feel this deterioration almost every day at there lately. My colleague told me that I must be obsessed about a contradiction between the work and the company. Thank you my friend, you are very right. I should get exorcised the contradiction, more precisely, circumstances.
